U.S. Army Sustainment Command Logistics Management Specialist in Waegwan, South Korea
Summary About the Position: Serves as a Senior Logistics Management Specialist for the Army Prepositioned Stock 4 (APS-4), Camp Carroll, Korea. Participates in planning, managing, overseeing, and execution of the APS-4 program for the Pacific Theater. Please review South Korea's prescription medication & Drug regulations here: https://kr.usembassy.gov/services-controlled-substance/ Responsibilities Supports the Production Control Branch, participates in maintenance planning, managing, oversight and execution of the APS-4 Care of Supplies In Storage (COSIS) program. Plans, coordinates and manages operations on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, equipment fielding, retrofit and modification of equipment and warranty actions supporting the APS-4 program. Participates in retail supply and/or maintenance planning sessions to identify workload requirements, develop schedules and monitor productions in all areas. Interprets directives and orders from higher echelons on the logistics support plan and takes positive action to effect changes and minimize adverse impact. Provides oversight of assigned commodities during processing in supply/maintenance operations and serves in a liaison capacity to coordinate and resolve commodity specific issues with concerned government and contractor elements. Prepares and briefs maintenance performance data and matrix to the division chief, Deputy to the Commander, and the Commander. Anticipates delays and problem areas, evaluates problems and recommends/initiates corrective actions to include tasking and evaluating support of various functional areas. To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves; 1) Broad knowledge of the organization and functions of activities involved in providing logistical support. And 2) Identifying the specific requirements for funding, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support equipment maintenance programs. And 3) Using automated logistics system (ex: GCSS-Army, MMIS, AESIP…). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). If you are currently stationed in the overseas area, all of your overseas time will be credited toward your current overseas tour end date. Your overseas time served will not reset upon accepting this assignment. If you have returned from OCONUS within the past 2 years or less, your time previously served in the OCONUS area will be credited to your 5 year overseas rotation upon accepting this assignment.
