Indian Health Service Supervisory Clinical Psychologist in Wadsworth, Nevada

Summary The Supervisory Clinical Psychologist will report to the Chief Executive Officer in the Behavioral Health Department located at the Nevada Skies Youth Wellness Center (Wadsworth, NV). The incumbent provides clinical administrative leadership and formulates, revises and updates the policies and procedures as they relate to the vision, scope, goals and objectives of the youth regional treatment programs. Responsibilities Responsible for the operational, procedural, and logistical integrity of the Youth Regional Treatment Center service components. Works with the Supervisory Management, Clinical Management and Business Management in order to maintain the fiscal health and integrity of the Phoenix, Tucson, Nevada and Utah Area Youth Regional Treatment Programs (Phoenix Based Operations) and operates within budgeted funding. Serves as an advisor and consultant on the programmatic aspects of all behavioral health care delivery for adolescents' addictive disease management with or without co-occurring mental health diagnoses. In collaboration with the CEO and relevant administrative staff, oversees Phoenix, Tucson, Nevada and Utah Area Youth Regional Treatment Programs (Phoenix Based Operations) Medicaid collection activities and interface with all participating state Medicaid programs to ensure maximum collections. Has overall responsibility of the entire scope of clinical services for the youth residential treatment substance abuse and co-occurring mental health problems in adolescents. This position provides supervision to both Desert Visions and Nevada Skies Youth Wellness Center. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must pass pre-employment examination. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-14: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples Include: Responsible for overall planning, organizing, improving and implementing behavioral health issues; providing administrative management and supervision for behavioral health staff and clinical supervision for appropriate staff to assure compliance with accrediting bodies; providing psychological care and consultation services to patients in the area while establishing behavioral health standards of care and as a senior clinician; providing a wide range of psychological testing, evaluation and clinical services; and providing leadership in the development of policies and procedures, related to outpatient psychiatric services. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR, License: Must possess a current valid State Board Psychologist License from any State to practice independently in his or her professional competency. Additional Information Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service.
