Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Voorhees, New Jersey

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the project manager, mechanical engineers and designers in designing mechanical (HVAC) systems for various clients. You will coordinate and work with the design team within your discipline and collaborate with the Project Manager to execute project objectives efficiently. This position requires fluency in design for Acute and Ambulatory Care Health Facilities, as well as both Academic and Corporate Research Facilities. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with a minimum of 3 days per week in our Voorhees, NJ office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design energy-efficient HVAC and mechanical systems per client requirements.

  • Conduct load calculations analysis and energy modeling using programs such as eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, and/or Carrier HAP.

  • Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget.

  • Perform design, layout, and checking of mechanical and HVAC drawings using Revit, ensuring technical correctness by adhering to applicable job, federal, state, and local standards and codes.

  • Coordinate regularly with facility owners and architects to maintain high levels of responsiveness and communication.

  • Conduct shop drawing reviews and construction administration.

  • Provide direction to less experienced Engineers in Training when working on projects together.

  • Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide field construction support as required.

  • Implement training development in conjunction with the Project Engineer, other engineers, designers, and draftspersons assigned to your projects.

  • Assist the PM/Project Engineer in proposal development, client management, and overall project execution.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledgeable of local, state, and national code requirements, specifically NFPA and Joint Meeting.

  • Experience and working knowledge of load analysis and energy modeling programs such as eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, and/or Carrier HAP.

  • Strong working knowledge and utilization of AutoCAD; experience with Revit is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus.

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience with proven progression in the detailed design of Mechanical/HVAC systems.

  • Experience in Healthcare, critical care, life sciences, and/or laboratory facilities.

  • Experience in executing design projects with Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
