Texas A&M University's Technology Services (https://it.tamu.edu/) is actively seeking a mid-level Video Network Specialist II to join our team to support our School of Pharmacy and the School of Public Health here in College Station, Texas.

As a Video Network Specialist II, you’ll be behind the scenes, ensuring over 20 classrooms teleconferencing systems are running smoothly for our faculty. You’ll also oversee the training and mentoring of our student technicians, empowering them to provide tier I AV technical support. When more complex issues arise, that’s when you’ll step in, to utilize your problem solving and technical skills to provide the tier II support.

You’ll be the friendly face our faculty will turn to, providing a high level of care that directly impacts the growth and development of our students. Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

  • Install, modify, and repair video teleconference systems

  • Perform video conferencing technical support and troubleshooting

  • Verify satellite downlinks and transmissions between conference sites

  • Maintain documentation

  • Train student technicians to provide tier I support

  • Participate in AV training and professional development activities as approved by IT Leadership

    Salary: $45,000 – $49,500 annually

    This position is expected to be onsite in College Station, Texas.

    Qualifications       

  • A bachelor's or equivalent combination of education and experience AND two years of related experience in video teleconferencing systems.   

  • A well-qualified candidates would also possess one or more of the following: Bachelor’s degree in Technology related disciplines, training with installed A/V systems, experience in AV system design, higher education, or medical facility AV support, experience with video and audio conferencing, project management, CODECs, Cisco TMS, AV camera operation and deployment, experience with site survey design, experience with CAT6 cabling terminations, Knowledge of products including, cameras, codecs, audio services including mics and speakers, commercial grade monitors, screen sharing applications, element and alert management tools, Understanding of remote access SSH, Command Line Linux, Ability to use and manage room scheduling tools and software, and/or working with remote desktop systems and performing IT troubleshooting skills.
