Summary PLEASE NOTE: Based on the current hiring restrictions, selectees may be subject to additional approvals prior to an offer being extended. This position is located in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Deputy Commissioner (Financing and Operations), Retail Securities Services (RSS) within the Division of Customer Service, Branch and Section as assigned. The mission of the Division of Customer Service is to provide accurate and timely customer service for RSS. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist, you will: Oversee and provide technical guidance on section activities. Ensure transactions and requests are processed in compliance with all rules and regulations. Perform QA or performance related reviews of subordinate work. Resolve complex requests, escalated transactions, and controversial issues. Approve high-dollar waivers or make recommendations to the Branch Manager if limit is exceeded. Analyze actual and proposed legislation or regulations to determine the impact on program regulations and activities. Advise the Branch Manager of extent to which proposed requirements may affect policies and practices ultimately impacting resource utilization. Maintain internal and external contacts to assist in executing the RSS program. Provide advice on the potential impact of proposed changes to operating plans, procedures, organizational structures, and functions. Undertake special assignments and projects as directed by management that impacts overall operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment A one-year probationary period may be required. A one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience: For the GS-13, You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies and guidelines for the purpose of making recommendations, proposing actions and decisions; AND - Experience inspiring, motivating, and guiding others toward goals; assisting in the allocation of resources to ensure operational components are adequately staffed and trained and daily goals are achieved; AND - Leading projects to accomplish goals and meet deadlines. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
