Job Description

Strategic Account Manager Europe,

Albemarle Specialties

Strategic Account Manager will have the primary task of understanding and growing the sales of Albemarle Specialties business in Europe for Lithium Specialties division. Potential candidate will develop and implement sales plans with clear account priority coordinating with commercial leadership.

Responsibilities/Key Focus:

  • Owns the Albemarle customer interface with assigned customer portfolio as well as new customers within the value chain

  • Achieve/exceed sales objectives through both revenue & profit through value selling

  • Develop and maintain account plans for key strategic accounts, through deep understanding of customer value chain and their long-term development plan and competence

  • Understands the customer requirements and provides timely feedback to the commercial leadership team about customer potential through analysis of positioning, strengths, weaknesses, and competition

  • Actively partners with Product Management to develop and execute tailored strategy for Europe for both polymer industry as well as for life science segment

  • Successfully negotiate, implement, and secure current and new business opportunities

  • Forecast accurate sales volume and revenues and meets/exceeds the annual operating plan targets

  • Build and maintain key customer relationships at various senior management levels and throughout new and existing customer organizations (high, wide and deep)

  • Develop, teach, and apply Challenger Selling tools and techniques in customer interactions

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree at a minimum with basic knowledge of chemical industry/application

  • Fluency in English both written and spoken, preferably German and/or French native speaker

  • 5+ years’ experience in sales/marketing or technical sales in chemical industry

  • Able to own and analyze assigned business segments independently

  • Ability to learn and develop his/her negotiation skills

  • Ability to work in an autonomous way

  • Willing to travel up to 40 % of the time

  • Analytical skills to evaluate value chain, risks, growth potential of accounts, etc

  • Good presentation and project management skills
