Summary ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Operations Supervisor for Abilene Convention Center. Responsible for set-up, operate, strike events as written, verbal and equipment requirements direct, keep equipment in good working order. This position will adhere to safety requirements, procedures and codes while performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with co-workers, clients and sub-contractors in producing professional quality productions.Carry out assignments as directed by Stage Supervisor or Production Manager.Read stage plots, light plots, and other drawings for set-up requirements.Pick-up all facility equipment and return to proper storage area.Maintain a clean working environment; ensure venue is ready for the next event.Responsible for completion of assigned job unless released by supervisor.Notifies Supervisor of equipment in need of repair or when supplies are low.Follows facility dress code and grooming standards.Follows established safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.Attends to and conforms to the policies established by ASM Global and the Operations Department.Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory duties.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED); trade school or some college2 or more years of related experience in show production and/or live entertainmentOr equivalent combination of education and experienceSkills and AbilitiesAbility to work with minimal supervisionGeneral knowledge of theatrical carpentry, lighting, sound, video, and basic rigging skillsStrong problem-solving skills requiredAbility to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work well under limited time restrictionsGood written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including managementAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to read and comprehend instruction labelingAbility to work irregular hours including, night shifts, weekends and holidaysProfessional presentation, appearance and work ethicComputer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have some computer knowledge.Other QualificationsAbility to climb and work from lifts, ladders and catwalks for long periods of time multiple times per day as needed.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear; use hands and fingers to use equipment; perform duties above ground (lift); perform work around the public/large groups of people. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, during events as needed and may be subjected to adverse conditions. This position may require reaching with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, lift/move heavy objects up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for inspection of systems and repairs; may be subjected to moderate to extreme exposure of noise during events.
