Telephone & Data Systems Sr Analyst-Logistics in United States
We have a brand new opening within our Supply Chain Services and Logistics deparement, we are seeking a new Senior Logistics Analyst to work within our team. This position is open to work remotely or from one of our many locations across the country.
The Sr Analyst - Logistics provides analytical and functional support to the Logistics Team through evaluation of forecasted inventory (CPE and fixed assets) demand and supply preparing regular analysis and performance reporting for business partner review and identifying changes in inventory impacting conditions. In this role you will partner with business owners to aggregate forecasted demand, evaluating current inventory supply and lead time fulfillment requirements to ensure inventory levels are optimized.
As a Sr Analyst will be responsible for developing process improvements and analyzing supplier performance through Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position is to be a subject matter expert with respect to all processes of distribution, including, but not limited to, forward logistics functions, reverse logistics functions between TDS and the suppliers, shipping carrier performance management, and change management in order to analyze processes and find opportunities for improvement. This position will work collaboratively with the Logistics manager and business owners to align disparate data sources to help align inventory forecasts. This position maintains responsibility for inputs into tools leveraged for inventory tracking and re-order points. This position processes all ad hoc data analytics requests for the team which result in process efficiencies and reducing costs to the company.

Partners with business owners on continuous forecasted inventory demand. Analyzes metrics and provides recommendations relative to forecasted inventory demand and supply gaps. Prepares and reviews operating statistics and evaluates for anomalies from plan, forecast, and projected supply. Provides perspective and insights to results and makes operating recommendations at both the company level and market levels.
Analyzes and monitors supplier service level metrics. Develops and distributes supplier specific reporting to cross functional teams as needed. Gathers and provides lead time information obtained from suppliers and operations to ensure accurate and timely ordering of inventory.
Updates inventory tracking tool inputs and monitors critical outputs. This will include ensuring correct auto order levels, min and max settings, and economic order quantity calculations.
Provides analytical support for the entire Logistics team, reporting on metrics and KPIs. Reporting could include risk analysis of suppliers, as well as perform ad-hoc reporting requests from the team and business owners focused on managing inventory carrying costs
Leads cross functional process improvement efforts related to Logistics focused on cost reduction initiatives and process efficiencies.
Provides back up for other Logistics team roles, such as order desk, catalog maintenance, and repair services.
Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
3+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management.
Strong knowledge of Procurement Processes and related systems required, SAP experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated strong data and financial analysis capability.
Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) required
Ability to positively lead process changes fast paced, complex, and changing environment.
Ability to establish and analyze operational key performance indicators and use findings to guide business decisions and Supply Chain strategies (understanding trade-offs on cost/service).
Understanding of contracts and agreements.
Knowledge of telecommunications products is helpful.
A team player who can work with a wide range of personality types from front line employees to upper management executives.
Requires integrity and objectivity when working with vendors and inspecting products/services.
