Software Engineering – Simulation Location: Remote Duration: 12 Months Job Description: Client is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering (Simulation) team. The Software Engineering (Simulation) team builds 3D simulations in Unreal & Blender for CV-Client synthetic data. Our simulations provide data to power Client capabilities for Client VR and AR devices, such as the Quest 3. The team works on cutting edge rendering and simulation features for generating data at scale. We are looking for candidates who share a passion for tackling complexity and working in a multidisciplinary org. Software Engineering - Simulation Responsibilities: Design and build simulations, rendering features and synthetic data pipeline capabilities Code systems in C++ and Python Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa Conduct design and code reviews Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources Drive performance measurement, analysis, and optimization Work with technical artists and infrastructure teams to debug performance issues across the stack Minimum Qualifications 6+ years relevant experience building games or simulations in Unreal or other game engine Experience with animation systems Experience improving stability through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes Experienced in utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and providing detailed feedback and solutions Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with neural animation systems Experience with Blender and offline renderers Skills Required Code using primarily Python, Hack 5 years distributed background, large scale systems How will performance be measured: Meeting goals, quality of work, team participation Comparable comps: large internet companies - e.g. Microsoft, Google, Client. Story Behind the Need : Business Group & Key Projects: RL Team that work on synthetic data for infrastructure Typical Day in the Role: Engineers will work with other infra building APIs and enable simulation engineer workflows in a Windows environment using these APIs Selling points: Will work on large scale distributed systems contributing to cutting edge mixed reality machine learning models
