We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Lead System Administrator to oversee the administration of our federal agency's ServiceNow platforms, including both production and non-production environments. This vital role demands a highly skilled individual with a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator credential and deep expertise in platform system administration concepts. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and efficiency of the ServiceNow platform, contributing significantly to the success of our Software Development and Support program. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology within a federal agency, leveraging the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform to enhance operational capabilities and support mission-critical processes. This position is contingent upon contract award.

This Senior ServiceNow Lead System Administrator role is a unique opportunity to lead the administration of a critical platform within a federal agency, ensuring operational excellence and contributing to the agency's mission through effective use of ServiceNow's ESM platform. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the program forward, making this an ideal position for a motivated and skilled professional eager to make a significant impact.

What will I get to do?

  • ServiceNow Platform Administration: Manage and oversee the administration of the ServiceNow platform for the agency, including both production and non-production environments.

  • System Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure the platform remains secure, efficient, and up to date with the latest features and functionalities.

  • User Support and Management: Provide support to platform users, manage user roles and permissions, and ensure proper system access across the agency.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor platform performance, identify and resolve any issues or bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability.

  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the platform adheres to federal security standards and compliance requirements, implementing necessary security measures to protect sensitive data.

  • Customization and Integration: Work closely with developers and architects to support customizations, integrations, and enhancements to meet the agency's specific needs.

  • Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive documentation on system configurations, procedures, and best practices. Provide training and guidance to other team members and users as needed.

What qualifications do I need?

  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Must be a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, with a strong preference for candidates with additional certifications relevant to ServiceNow development or security.

  • Bachelor's degree is required (master’s degree is preferable).

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience.

  • 8 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

What will help me thrive?

  • ITIL v3 and/or v4 Certification(s) is highly desirable.

  • Additional ServiceNow Certification(s) in various modalities is highly desirable.

  • Expert Knowledge: Demonstrated expert knowledge of ServiceNow platform system administration concepts, with a thorough understanding of IT service management (ITSM) best practices.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing ServiceNow instances, performing system upgrades, and configuring system settings to optimize performance and security.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, analyze system performance, and implement effective solutions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation within the platform.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and organizational needs, staying current with ServiceNow platform developments and federal IT security standards.

Compensation

$113,927.72 - $187,981.83

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
