GlaxoSmithKline Service Manager GSAP Unix/Linux in United States

The new job is the results of rationalizing 3 organizations into one product-based organization that has end to end responsibility for App Hosting in Core Tech including Vaccines.

Ensure operational services are delivered in accordance with the agreed standards and quality as defined with the Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements via the GSK selected 3rd party supplier.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary interface for the GSK selected 3rd party supplier for to ensure services are delivered as contractually defined

  • Analyze and review actual service performance against agreed SLA and OLA measures.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiates to enhance the SLA and OLA targets and metrics.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Eye for detail and accuracy

  • Ability to understand business needs

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Provide regular reports on service performance and achievement to the service owner and governance boards.

  • Develop and maintain management processes and controls to ensure quality is maintained to meet business objectives.

  • Champion and promote service improvements to continually improve quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain day to day responsibility for the ownership and resolution (including any referral or escalation as may be necessary) of significant service issues.

  • Ensure appropriate SLA/OLA measures are in place to support any new services.

  • Ensure the defined services capacity meets GSK business demand.

  • Provide support on escalations and Major Incidents when needed.

We are looking for a Service Manager GSAP Unix/Linux and if you have these skills, we would like to speak to you.

  • Total 6 to 9 years of experience in IT industry experience

  • Min 5 y of experience in Unix/Linux development and support on complex solutions within large scale organisations

  • Must have strong expertise in AIX, HP-UX administration

  • Good knowledge of IBM Power technology and AIX, HP-UX, HANA. Experience in managing SAP infrastructure.

  • Be available for on-call support as needed.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of technology

  • Develop processes for optimizing AIX, HP-UX, Linux security.

  • Manage OS access.

  • Reviewing and recommending performance tuning of OS.

  • Recommend and implement emerging Unix /Linux technologies.

  • oversee Unix /Linux reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

  • Look for opportunities via automation for repeating Unix /Linux tasks.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have experience in service management

  • Must understand ITIL Service Operation Processes

  • Event Management

  • Incident Management

  • Request Fulfillment

  • Problem Management

  • Access Management
