Job Overview

Jensen Hughes has exciting career opportunities available for Senior and Principal Electrical Engineers across the United States. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in areas pertaining to electrical failures, incidents and accidents, with a strong focus on Fire Investigation. You will join a multi-discipline team of forensic experts and professional consultants.

Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position will be to analyze and determine the root cause of high and low power electrical failures, electronic and battery fires; electrocutions and electric shock injuries; machinery and equipment failures, and electrical fire investigations. The ideal candidate will be adept at writing technical reports and be a self-starter that can establish and maintain contacts, with a drive for building a business.

Requirements and Qualifications:

License and Certification Requirements

  • BS or Masters in Electrical Engineering or other related engineering area. Current PE desirable

  • CFI or CFEI is a plus.

Work Experience and Additional Requirements

  • 5+ years practical experience in the electrical engineering field

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the forensic/failure analysis arena

  • Past litigation support, expert witness testimony skills and product safety engineering experience are desirable attributes

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing technical reports pertaining to electrical failures and Fire Investigation.

  • Ideal candidate possesses experience with the operation of various types of machinery, equipment and appliances, building electrical systems; automobiles and heavy equipment components and operation; as well as a wide array of other engineering experiences (e.g. failure analysis, building code familiarity, and systems testing). Past forensic experience is a plus.

  • Candidate must have excellent customer service, communication and project management skills. Responsibilities include field investigations, collaboration, project coordination and preparation of reports.
