As one of the fastest-growing academic health centers in the nation, the Texas A&M University Health Science Center encompasses five colleges and numerous centers and institutes working together to improve health through transformative education, innovative research and team-based health care delivery. We have multiple opportunities for Security Officers at all experience and skill levels. The Security Officer provides a positive image throughout campus in a highly visible manner. We are looking for highly motivated individuals dedicated to serving our guests and visitors at the Dallas campus.
Opportunities to contribute:
Provide directions for guests and visitors
Test, review and implement HSC Crisis Management Plan
Respond to fire, security, 911 and other emergency calls on campus
Promote close working relationships with local law enforcement departments
Enforce parking regulations
Provide first aid in emergency situations
Work closely with Security Captain to implement and coordinate security procedures and protocols
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for a Security Officer:
High school graduation or any equivalent combination of education and experience and six months related experience or six months as Security Officer in Training with demonstrated proficiency in all phases of duties performed
Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License within 30 days of employment. Inability to obtain a valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License may result in termination
Minimum qualifications for an Advanced Security Officer:
High school graduation or any equivalent combination of education and experience and one year as a Security Officer or other comparable full-time employment
Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License within 30 days of employment. Inability to obtain a valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License may result in termination
A well-qualified candidate for any of these positions will also possess:
College courses in criminal justice or behavioral science programs
Security/Law Enforcement training
Two years of full-time employment or military service
One year as a Security Officer or other comparable full-time employment
