THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Position Summary : 

Tidal Basin is hiring both Quality Control Technicians and Safety Technicians for a haul and install contract related to Transportable Temporary Housing Units in Hawaii. The Quality Control Technicians will be responsible to ensure that Alternative ATTHUs are installed properly to meet all quality standards. The Safety Technicians will monitor safety at Ports and during transport, staging, and installation. These positions are expected to be forward deployed to Maui or other Hawaiian Islands.  Candidates must be willing and able to deploy up to 100%. 

You will need to provide your own personal safety gear (reflective construction vest, Hard Hat, Steel Toed work boots) and any other gear required by the customer.

This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a background check.   

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

The Quality Control Technician:

  • Implements the quality control/quality assurance plan for each mission(s). Ensures all aspects of the Scope of Work are being completed in accordance with the field work plan and supporting documentations including permit requirements.

  • Ensures that all work items either for construction or installation is in compliance with local regulations and permit requirements.

  • Ensure that all field materials meet the quality standards for construction.

  • Report the quality status of the installation of the Manufactured Housing Units (MHUs) or construction of group sites as needed.

  • Implement the quality program at both the receiving yard and the operation and maintenance phase of the mission according to the approved mission work plans.

  • Perform inspections required to confirm compliance with the contract and task order requirements, and general industry best practices and standards.

  • Responsible for inspecting Temporary Housing Units prior to acceptance from FEMA and transporting of the units.

    The Safety Technician:

  • Implements the Safety Plan for each mission(s) and ensures that staff is following safety protocols.

  • Perform Safety inspections at the port, other facilities, and at final installation as required by the Safety Plan; collects and analyzes data on safety conditions.

  • Report Safety violations as described in the Safety Plan.

    Skills and Competencies:

  • Inspections

  • Clear written and verbal communication

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Experience with monitoring either safety or quality in a construction site or a temporary housing mission.

    Pay Rate: 

  • $25 - $35 per hour depending on experience and certifications.
