Bob's Discount Furniture Receiving Lead (Material Handler) 2nd shift in United States

The primary function of the Receiving Lead is to oversee all of the Lift Operators in his/her group, and make sure that work is completed in a timely fashion. This role is responsible for assigning tasks to the team, reporting problems to management, and fostering a positive environment within the department. The Receiving Lead reports to the Supervisor and/or Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate radio frequency (RF) gun

  • Assign tasks to Lift Operators

  • Ensure the team is stocking correctly

  • Put away merchandise

  • Pick pieces

  • Relocate pieces from one location to another using the appropriate tools

  • Receive bulk pieces to locations in the racks

  • Partner with other departments in Receiving to complete work

  • Work on special projects; support other leads and supervisors on projects and new procedures

  • Report problems to management

  • Train new stockers

  • Enforce safety rules

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse atmosphere

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to move small to large and heavy objects

  • Strong verbal and listening skills

  • Willingness to learn more

  • Able to be objective in situations

  • The ability to be a representative of management

  • A team player and willing to work long hours

  • Must be safety minded
