Description

BridgeValley Community & Technical College invites applicants for a full-time, 10-month, grant funded, renewable, faculty position beginning in the fall term 2024 to serve as the program coordinator in our new Radiologic Technology associates degree program in the Allied Health Division. This individual will be responsible for the overall coordination of the Radiologic Technology AAS program, recruitment of students and advising for all students within the program. Additional responsibilities include curriculum development, accreditation preparation, and teaching as approved by your supervisor. Expectations include providing support/service to students, participating in continual professional development, fundraising for the program, and providing service to the institution/community with the ultimate goals of improving enrollment, retention, and completion rates for students. Hours are flexible with on campus time required. This position may require travel. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required. This position will be based in South Charleston, however, travel to all campuses may be required on occasion.

The salary range for this position is $40,000-45,000. The actual offer will be commensurate with experience. This position is grant-funded.

Examples of Duties

  • Development of the program and curriculum

  • Development of program and course level assessment metrics

  • Network, solicit and build relationships with appropriate community partners, businesses, and industries within the community.

  • Prepare for and instruct classes in related subject matter.

  • Establish clear grading criteria for all courses.

  • Assist in recruitment and orientation of adjunct faculty for courses as needed.

  • Prepare for national programmatic accreditation through JRCERT.

  • Ensure program level compliance with all internal academic policies and procedures and all accrediting standards, state licensing requirements, and other applicable external rules and regulations.

  • Participate in division, department, and general faculty meetings, in-service training, workshops and/or seminars; serve on college committees, and/or other activities within the scope of the position to improve program enrollment, retention, completion, and fundraising.

  • Recruit participants for employer advisory committee and other activities designed to solicit input into curriculum and build relationships with employers and potential employers of BVCTC graduates; coordinate and conduct annual advisory committee meetings.

  • Recruit, screen, develop, lead, and mentor faculty and adjuncts as needed to maintain the overall quality and integrity of the data analytics program.

  • Promote and maintain a team based working environment.

  • Perform other duties and activities within the scope of the position as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Earned master’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field from an accredited institution.

  • Three years of clinical experience in the radiography professional discipline

  • Two years of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program

  • Current ARRT certification.

  • Experience at a community college or related educational setting is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving and mediation.
