Cypress Creek Solutions provides innovative operation & maintenance solutions for a variety of asset owners and a diverse portfolio of utility-scale and distributed generation solar and storage projects. A wholly owned subsidiary of Cypress Creek Renewables, Cypress Creek Solutions conducts O&M for over 4GW of solar and storage assets across more than 500 sites with a presence in 24 states for third-party asset owners and the Cypress Creek Renewables fleet.

The Role

CCR is seeking a highly motivated candidate with utility solar experience to perform quality control inspections and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems. This role is a REMOTE position located in Florida or Texas initially and will require long-term travel to job sites in other parts of the country.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Conducting on-site inspections and evaluations of solar photovoltaic facilities

  • Help plan and conduct daily activities

  • Thorough and detailed analysis of construction means and methods

  • Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed; from civil, to mechanical, to electrical

  • Creating inspection reports and maintaining all required documentation

  • Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections so they can be transferred to permanent hard copy and/or electronic files

  • Inspect the work and establish punch lists

  • Conducting on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities as needed

  • Perform DC and AC testing including but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing

  • Perform sUAS(drone) and handheld infrared thermography inspections

  • Maintain tools, instruments, and inventory stock

  • Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards

  • Communicate effectively with the project team

    Preferred Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2+ years of QA/QC experience

  • 1+ years of experience in Solar PV construction or maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, monitoring, civil, and racking installation

  • Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS and UPS systems

  • Familiar with testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, Ground Fault Detection

  • Hold inverter manufacturer certifications

  • Experience in all aspects of PV construction, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, civil, and structural

  • Understanding of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices

  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams

  • Familiar and proficient with Procore construction software

  • Familiar and proficient with MS Office suite

  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills

  • Strong technology aptitude

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • OSHA 10 HR Training

  • NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in workplace

  • Must have the ability to travel

    Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Work is to be performed in the field. Travel 90% or more will be required

  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. PPE personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; hard hat, arc flash protection, safety glasses, hearing protection)

  • Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-12 hours a day.

  • Available to work Monday-Friday and often on the weekend.

  • Available for overnight and extended travel durations

  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis

    Location: This is a 100% traveling role servicing our customers in a variety of states across the U.S. Preferably we would want this role to be based in North Carolina with the ability to travel 100% of the time.
