Omnitracs Project Manager - Supply Chain Engineering in United States

Job Duties

  • Assists with the complete technical management of products in the Supply Chain which includes the introduction of new products to the supply base, implementing Hdw and SW change to existing products, supporting the changes resulting from technology changes impacting Supply Chain, and supporting and leading the End of Life for Hdw products.

  • Understand WWAN provisioning processes and work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot systems “real time”.

  • Work with Hdw/SW Eng and Product Management and develop best Operations processes practices for Electronic Manufacturing PCBA, Final Assembly and Test.

  • Facilitates the resolution of supplier related technical issues within products, whether discovered in the Field, in Manufacturing, or at the supplier or their supply chain.

  • Leads technical projects with cross functional teams to drive a project to closure.

  • Lead efforts to develop Functional and RF testing of Telematic products.

  • Maintains regular visits and communication with the manufacturing and distribution facility to set-up new production and RMA/Triage processes and resolve any quality or process issues “real time” reporting status on a regular and timely basis.

  • Supports the corrective action process with suppliers to identify and resolve the root cause of the problem.

  • Responsible for creating and driving the manufacturing SW/Hdw/Systems change verification process for changes implemented in the factory.

  • Provides input and review technical documentation for RFP’s/RFQ’s and technical contract issues.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to translate and statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.

  • In depth ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS project

  • Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, Industry specific standards (ie. IPC, Mil Specs, ANSI, etc.), and knowledge of change control methods and processes.

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, including preparing and delivering presentations, participation in purchasing negotiations as technical support, negotiating specifications and process requirements.

  • Experience supporting cross functional teams in problem solving or process development efforts.

  • Proven oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter – plenty of initiative, picking up tasks and challenges pro-actively.

Education & Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Minimum 5 yrs experience with Electronic Manufacturing (preferred medium to high volume)

  • Experience in Manufacturing and/or Process Engineering. Background in Contract Manufacturing environment and experience in Quality Assurance, and/or in the field of Supplier Quality Engineering a plus.
