Xylem Project Management Engineer in United States

Summary:

Take control of Project and Service Contracts when awarded to Xylem, managing the execution to guarantee meeting all its requirements.

Purpose:

  • Work in close coordination with B.U.s (Business Units), purchase department and suppliers to reduce project execution costs, improving target margin.

  • Monitor project and service contracts cash flow and costs in close coordination with local controller.

  • Challenge Business Units in order to execute order in the most cost-effective way.

  • Control all project milestones like hold points, progress payments, documentation, drawings, certificates, performance tests, material reports, partial shipments, on site delivery, installation, commissioning, start up, etc., to ensure a smooth execution.

  • Engage with customer project and field service manager to coordinate, in a timely manner, all resources required to conduct a successful product or system installation and start up.

  • Monitor customer on time fulfillment of project milestones (on time drawings approval, partial payments, test reports approvals, etc.), applying agreed penalties if deemed appropriate.

  • Program project sequence of activities, identifying its critical path and the potential impact of unexpected events, and possible counter measures.

  • Prepare Project and Service Contracts progress reports, costs reports, Gantt charts and its updates for follow up and control purposes.

  • Comply with Company ethics, trade policies and directives.

  • Work following standardized processes, registering, keeping, improving targeted metrics

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering. Technical Degree in project management (desirable).

Experience:

3 year experience in industrial, water, Wastewater or construction project management

Deep knowledge in project management technics.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications:

  • High sense of responsibility / accountability

  • English good communication skills. Written and spoken.

  • Ability & knowledge to interact with all project and service contract stakeholders (external and internal)

  • Proactive.

  • Good knowledge of project and service contracts management technics.

  • Knowledge of project management software.

  • Prioritization ability

  • Self learner

  • Strong Analytical Skills and ability to analyze data & information

  • Excellent Communication Skills
