Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Principal Data Architect will play a crucial role in setting the strategy, technical direction and driving the adoption of our next generation data platform. This highly visible position will be front and center as we work to continuously modernize our solutions and change the way we think about applying data across our enterprise landscape.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Strategy & Architecture:
Architect, design and deploy an enterprise-scale OLTP data integration layer on Azure
Define and Implement OLAP data integration patterns using PaaS offerings (Data Factory, Logic Apps, Functions, Event Hubs, Databricks, and various storage offerings)
Lead technical discussions that drive decisions and implementation approaches
Review and manage technical requirements and business functional requirements to establish new cloud platforms
Design actionable architectures with various 3rd party solution delivery partners to meet our clients’ technical, security, and business needs
Execute on implementation plans to deploy Azure infrastructure and move workloads off of legacy systems
Play a key role in Agiliti’s digital transformation and have a voice with Sr. IT leadership as well as Sr. business stakeholders
Work closely with the Director of Enterprise Data Management to:
Author / iterate the enterprise data strategy and roadmap
Develop / implement light weight data and technology governance
Architect new data capabilities for existing LOB’s with future state medical device IoT opportunities
Propose / evaluate new technologies
Engineering Oversight:
Full stack engineer
Detailed knowledge of cloud data storage technologies
Experienced with SQL and NoSQL data technologies
Deep understanding API’s (frameworks and best practices) and microservice based architectures
Experienced with Elastic Stack or similar logging, analysis and visualization tools
Advance DevOps across the technology organization
Practical knowledge of common CI/CD technologies
Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS offerings
Working knowledge or Power BI or similar data visualization tools
Working knowledge or analytic tools and best practices
Communication & problem solving and leadership skills Including:
Facilitates conversations with Sr. leadership
Able to generate enthusiasm and buy in for new idea’s
Familiar with modern data architectures and able to communicate the pros and cons to the business
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (examples below)
10+ years of IT/data management experience
10+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on data management (OLAP and OLTP solutions)
Experience with data modeling and various optimization techniques for performant reports and dashboards
Experience with creating data visualizations with Power BI
Experience with data integration tools and techniques (for sources like SAP, Workday, SugarCRM, etc.…)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; MS or MBA preferred
Experience with multiple data storage technologies (e.g., T-SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.)
Experience with TFS, GitHub or other modern Source Code Management Tools
Experience with CI/CD tools
Experience with statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SAS, etc.…) - Preferred
Experience optimizing and tuning databases and related objects
Experience implementing and supporting database solutions on Microsoft Azure
Experience with data integration best practices
Experience ingesting, processing & storing and analyzing data with Azure and other visualization tools
Experience with ETL/ELT patterns
Familiar with data modeling best practices and tools
IT healthcare experience - Preferred
IoT experience – Preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES Deep understanding of data structures (structured and semi-structured data)
Practical understanding of database improvement techniques
Problem solving, teamwork, verbal and written communication skills

Medical device industry experience
Big Data experience
NoSQL experience
