Expedient Network Technician in United States

Expedient is hiring a Network Technician to join the Delivery & Implementation team. Successful candidates will have significant depth and technical knowledge of multi-site network design with a variety of technologies. This position may work remotely or choose to work in one of our datacenters and join a team of other Network Technicians and Engineers focusing on delivery of managed services and solutions for Expedient clients.

The Network Technician will configure network virtual and cloud services connecting clients to their public, private, multi-site cloud and traditional colocation datacenters. Our Network Technicians work with latest in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), firewalls, content security and threat prevention, remote access, and network automation as they facilitate the deployment of new and/or migration of the client’s workload to Expedient platforms.

The Network Technician Needs:

Demonstrated level of competency with the following technologies

  • Virtual private networks

  • Network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and MPLS)

  • IP routing, VLAN, and vxLAN

  • Enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches

  • Load balancers

  • Remote user VPN, configuration of network switches

  • Disaster recovery (not including backup solutions) with Zerto

    Additional requirements

  • 3+ years as a Network Administrator or Technician responsible for Managed Service Provider (preferred) or an enterprise size business

  • Experience handling firewall administration, including site-to-site VPN configuration and troubleshooting, Palo Alto preferred

  • The ideal candidate may possess one or multiple industry technical certifications from IT-related vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper

  • The ability to work some evenings and weekends on unique projects as needed

    The Network Technician Will:

  • Deliver standard network services during project implementations for the client

  • Provision VLANs, VxLANs, and IP routing connectivity inter/intra datacenter and to/from client premise

  • Work with EVPN, BGP, MPLS, dedicated private circuits, and spine-leaf architecture

  • Deploy and configure network appliances, including virtual network appliances

  • Implement Security Firewalls (including content filtering, log management, intrusion detection and prevention)

  • Implement Remote access and site-to-siteVPNs

  • Implement NSX Distributed Routers

  • Implement network disaster recovery services and participate in client testing

  • Trusted advisor for clients during configuration of content security, logging and threat management services

Salary for this position is directly related to what the candidate brings to the position.  An estimated, but not limited range, is $55,000 to $80,000 annually.  Again, this may be adjusted based on the candidates experience, skill and knowledge.
