The Role
The Manufacturing Shipping & Receiving Supervisor support to leadership with the execution of production schedules, for the safety, productivity and quality of the work area as well as the Lean objectives of the department. Manages all activities in Shipping and Receiving. Provides support, direction and leadership to Manufacturing. Learn to utilize “Lean Tools” to reduce waste and increase efficiencies in the process of the Value Stream. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will train, coach production employees in creating and sustaining a Lean Culture aligned with the company’s Vision, Mission and Values.
This is a 1st Shift position.
What You Will Do
Accountable for the overall performance of the department.
Communicate (read, write & respond) to email on a daily basis.
Give direction to Shipping team on daily activities.
Reduce and manage line downtime waiting on components.
Produce Bills of Lading for outgoing shipments of finished goods, components and equipment to maintain plant operations
Responsible for the execution of Cycle Counts (including trailers) on a daily basis
Receive components into the plant inventory system
Receive raw materials into plant the plant inventory system
Correct or report inventory discrepancies to improve inventory accuracy
Work with all forklift operators to resolve/address inventory discrepancies
Deliver miscellaneous packages that arrive daily from various delivery services
Respond to daily requests from associates across the plant, such as component samples, shipping requests, finding/delivering packages, etc.
Coordinate Forklifts as needed to load, unload and move materials
Direct the movement of trailers and deliveries in and out of dock doors across the facility’s campus to support and maintain daily operations
Cover vacations and call-offs in Shipping/Receiving as needed to support operations.
Eliminate safety issues/concerns in department.
Apply QCHD Stickers to affected product.
Executes all production related activities with proper adherence to quality system procedures, Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Additional duties may be assigned as defined in the Manufacturing Supervisor job description .
What You Will Need to Be Successful
Minimum- High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing role
Functional aptitude with Microsoft packages
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must be able to work independently and make decisions relative to the job duties
Proven Problem-Solving Skills
Solid analytical and organizational skills
Preferred Education & Experience
Preferred- Bachelor’s degree
Lean experience preferred
Experience in an FDA/cGMP/ISO Healthcare facility
Shipping and Receiving Experience
