WHAT YOU WILL DO
- JOB SUMMARY
Installs, repairs and maintains mechanical systems of machinery, equipment, physical structures and systems in an industrial environment. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Perform all the duties per the Maintenance Mechanic Job Description
Use Work Order system to learn work to be performed, parts to use, time on job, problems, etc.
Use inventory system to check inventory and obtain required parts
Operate forklift, scissor lift and boom lift
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment and complete necessary paperwork
Trouble shoot equipment by testing and listening for unusual sounds and consulting with other employees
Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment
Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables
Replace faulty electrical/electronic components of machines such as relays, switches, motors and printed circuit boards
Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit and electrical/electronic equipment in buildings
Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts
Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic gauges, valves and regulators
Repair and maintain physical structure of facility including utilities
Verify security of all Energy Sources during Lock Out / Tag Out
Create/draft lock out tag out procedures for approval
Conducts 6S audits
Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly on a continuous basis
Performs duties in a safe manner. Abides by all established safety policies
Performs duties within guidelines of Good Food Manufacturing Practices
Train/Retrain employees as needed
Participate in MBU/SBU’s as required
Perform all other duties as assigned.
WORK HOURS: 8 hrs/day (Note: Overtime requirements may change at the employer’s discretion and will be offered/assigned in accordance with labor contract)
QUALIFICATIONS
- REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Technical Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successfully complete a written job-related test. Possess a valid PA driver’s license. Successfully complete Class III Operations and Maintenance Worker asbestos training.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
Ability to understand and calculate basic math. Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use a standard calculator.
Ability to learn from directions, observations, and mistakes, and apply procedures using good judgment.
Ability to work independently or part of a team; ability to interact appropriately with others.
Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling and/or action/discipline.
Ability to use basic computer systems and key entry data collectors.
