Summary What General Information Do I Need To Know About This Position? Location Negotiable: The duty station of this position may be any existing USGS location that is agreed upon by the selecting official and the selectee. If the agreed upon location results in the relocation of the selectee, the travel, transportation, and relocation expenses are not authorized. For locality pay: General Schedule (opm.gov) Responsibilities As an Investigative Review Specialist within the Office of Human Capital, some of your specific duties will include: Leading and conducting administrative inquiries/investigations for allegations of misconduct. This includes conducting a fact-finding/investigative process in accordance with established policies and guidelines to ensure the Report of Investigation (ROI) and all the supporting documentation and evidence meets the standards for legal sufficiency. Education and Training: Designing, planning, delivering, and managing a variety of training curriculum related to harassment prevention and response, with specific focus on topics related to administrative investigations/inquiries. Analytical Expertise and Program Management: Conducting complex analysis, studies, and surveys to assess progress towards program goals, and to determine areas of concern (bureau-wide or at the sub-component level) that need to be addressed or managed. Because this position requires travel for official business, the selectee will be required to apply for a charge card within 30 calendar days of appointment. Individuals who have delinquent account balances from a previous Government charge card will be required to satisfy their existing obligation before a new card can be issued. A background investigation will be required for this position. Continued employment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Qualifications For GS-13: One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: conducting administrative investigations/inquiries for allegations of misconduct in accordance with established policies and guidelines to ensure the fact-finding Report of Investigation/Inquiry and all supporting documentation and evidence meets the standard for legal sufficiency; maintaining proper tracking and case file management in accordance with law, policy, and records retention schedules; designing, planning, delivering, and managing a variety of training curriculum related to harassment prevention and response; and conducting complex analysis, studies, and surveys to assess progress towards program goals.
