Summary Position may be filled as a term appointment Not-To-Exceed (3) years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Responsibilities Provide technical expertise on system operations, personnel applications, and programs to improve civilian personnel work methods and procedures through automation. Assist leadership with development, review and analysis of processes and products which enhance HR operations in support of contingency operations. Provide data analysis to assist AECW management and action officers develop long term efficient business practices and processes for local or worldwide implementation. Perform broad range of automation/cost/economic analysis involving unique HR problems pertaining to deployments of the civilian workforce. Design, develop, modify and/or implements complex, automated HR data processing solutions to provide decision-making information support related to the deployment of civilians in support of contingency operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience is defined as extracting data from automated human resource systems to provide reports and updates to management; monitor human resources information systems for error conditions, updates, and downloads to ensure continued optimal functionality; provide technical support and troubleshooting to users utilizing human resource systems. This level of experience is equivalent to the next lower grade in the federal government, GS-12. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: HR Information Systems Application Planning and Evaluating Technology Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--NO substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a(n) Human Resources Career Field position.
