Cheyenne Mountain Resort opened in 1985 and sits on 25 acres of land. The 4-Star Full Service property is nestled in the lush greens of Southern Colorado Springs and oversees Impressive mountain views, along with exciting activities like golf, swimming, and tennis. These allow for the unique experience that you can only get at this resort.
Salary range: $60,100-$65,100
The Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizes Hyatt systems and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate. The Sales Manager will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings. The Sales Manager also works as a team member with the sales and catering staff to in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

Qualifications:

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
Refined verbal and written communication skills
A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
Job Responsibilities
With an innovative mind set, identify and enthusiastically create new contacts and develop sales leads through phone solicitation/prospecting, sales calls, trade shows, etc.
Respond to sales inquiries and contact potential clients to build and nurture lasting business relationships.
Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and strategically sell against our competition.Take initiative to go beyond the ordinary to differentiate us from the competition and create loyalty.
Understand fully the hotel amenities, venues and options and provide recommendations to create authentic and distinctively different experiences for our group guests.
Anticipate our guests' needs and respond promptly.
Create, execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
Produce quotes and written confirmation to all clients
Maintain timely and accurate recording of activity to include appointments, calls made and business leads
Create, track, manage, follow-up, and close on pending leads and self-generated leads.
Punctual phone and email communication.
Compose drafts and reports. Ability to provide “snapshots” of progress.
Complete defined steps needed for all sales transactions.
Conduct property site visits and answer questions regarding hotel, brand, amenities and partners.
Manage and cultivate long term client relationships that produce both group and corporate business.
Determine rates in collaboration with DOSM and DORM, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts and analyze lost business for the hotel.
Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals.
Monitor customer satisfaction regularly and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure future business.
Conduct market research including potential new accounts and competitor intel.
Provide detailed, accurate and timely communication on groups, corporate clients, and new accounts to the hotel operations team and food and beverage partners.
