The Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and functions of a hotel. The purpose of this role is to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls and tours of hotel. This position is designed to find new business and saturate existing accounts/segments for new contacts resulting in new business for Park Hyatt St Kitts.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop new business by selling guest rooms and meeting space

  • Service existing customer groups

  • Manage accounts

  • Conduct site inspections

  • Take ownership and follow up on all details of customer events from booking to follow up

  • Prepare and present effective sales proposals

  • Maintain well organized documentation and reports

  • Participate in and lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings(as necessary)

  • Develop strong relationships with sales, catering and other support staff on property and in the regional offices, working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goal.

  • Utilizes Hyatt systems and coordinate customer service requirements as appropriate

  • Attend any brand required training as well as other meetings requested by the Director of Sales

  • Travel to hotel or client meetings as necessary

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

  • Regular attendance is expected based on schedule and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hotel sales or comparable experience

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills

  • Intermediate level of computer and office application proficiency

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training a plus

  • Completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training a plus

  • Experience at an upscale or luxury hotel a plus
