Environmental Project Manager
POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment and corrective action services to clients worldwide. We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager for the Western US to manage environmental siting, planning, and permitting of small to large energy projects. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in environmental planning and analysis, state and NEPA compliance, public involvement, technical writing, project management, and business development in one or more of the following areas: electric transmission lines and substations, power generation facilities, and/or energy storage.
This position will be a full-time, remote (Pacific or Mountain time zone) with the option to work out of offices in Boise, ID or Portland, OR.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include coordinating project team’s work and deliverables, monitoring schedule and budget, business development, and interfacing with internal staff and clients. Other responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Project Manager of energy-related projects
Manage multiple projects at various stages, disciplines, and locations
Interface with internal and external project managers/staff, clients, and sub-contractors
Client coordination including project scope, budget, schedule, and forecasting
Business development and proposal writing
Ability to attend and participate in open house and public meetings
Travel up to 30% of time for client and marketing meetings
Review and submit environmental planning and analysis documents to clients
Prepare, review, agency coordination and/or assist clients with submittals for federal, state, and local permit applications
Required Education/Experience
BS degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related degree
Ten (10) + years of experience coordinating or managing environmental permitting and planning for energy-related projects
Must have skills in project management, technical writing, environmental planning and analysis, regulatory compliance, and public involvement
Working knowledge and demonstrated experience in federal and state environmental policy and regulation is required
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with clients, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with project staff, and department management
Interest in pursuing and capturing work under existing contracts, generating business development leads, preparing proposals and presentations, and capturing project work
Desired Education/Experience
MS in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or related degree
Previous utility or energy development background and experience
Experience in proposal writing and presentations
Experience in one or more of the following areas: electric transmission lines and substations, energy storage, renewable power generation facilities, and/or natural gas pipelines

Base Salary Range: $81K - $135K
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job related knowledge, skills, experience and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
