ICONMA, LLC Engineer I - Substation Design in United States

One of our Utilities clients is looking for an experienced Engineer I - Substation Design in Las Vegas NV Description: Basic Purpose Provides engineering design services for substation facilities and ensures that these facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations. Applies prescribed methods and standard practices in performing specific tasks within projects and assists other engineering staff on more complex projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develops economical, technically feasible, reliable substation physical and control designs with direct/significant supervision and guidance. Provides technical management of multiple substation projects and prioritization of work, working collaboratively with outside consulting firms and internal stakeholders. (25%) Ensures quality control on assigned projects by providing construction support as needed, including coordination with construction forces and job site inspections. (25%) Provides coordination and communication with other departments in completing procurement tasks on projects with direct/significant supervision or guidance. (15%) Assists and guides other departments in the solution of non-standard substation design problems. (15%) Provides accurate cost estimates for use in company budgeting procedures such that cash flow requirements are identified. (10%) Provides input for development of detailed project schedules and update project management system to reflect the status of projects assigned. (10%) Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company. Performs related duties as assigned. Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in engineering. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated knowledge of: Fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge in substation/control engineering principals and other phases of engineering. Working knowledge of economic analysis methods, budgeting procedures, and company policies, rules and regulations. Utility engineering practices and procedures, construction methods and material specifications. Demonstrated skill such as Oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Equipment and Applications PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment. No special physical demands required.
