Job Description :

Indorama Ventures- Intermediate Chemicals is looking for a E&I Technician to join our team located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Electricians are responsible for the installation, maintenance & repair of electrical systems including but not limited to low, medium, and high voltage. Must have good working knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot motors and motor control systems, switchgear, transformers, and other electrical equipment. along with PLC’s and DCS systems. Must be able to read and understand schematic drawings, one-line diagrams and P&ID's. Self-managing and working in a team environment on scheduled daily work along with managing projects is necessary while working a weekly work schedule. Working overtime and answering callouts is mandatory.

What will be expected of you?

  • Installation, removal, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting all electrical systems.

  • Diagnose malfunctions on electrical systems.

  • PM, repair, overhaul motor control systems and devices.

  • Able to interpret, understand, and utilize vendor information and diagrams.

  • Work closely with Electrical Engineers, Management, and planners.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and installations activities, documenting results, and findings.

  • Must be able to follow site protocols for documenting work and equipment repair histories as applicable.

  • Programs and repairs control system devices such as relays, UPS, etc.

  • Installs and tests new electronic components independently or under supervision depending upon the nature of equipment.

  • Use of electronic testing, diagnostic, and device communication tools.

  • Prepares schematic "as built" and installation diagrams.

  • Must be able to follow site protocols for documenting work and equipment repair histories as applicable.

  • Performs clean-up of work areas and areas where repair and maintenance tasks have occurred in the plant and units.

  • Must be available to work overtime.

  • Must be available to respond to callouts.

  • Effective in communicating electrical needs to all levels of the organization.

  • Participates in Company required training programs and maintains required electrical credentials.

  • Completes required computer-based training within specified timeframes and maintains knowledge in the electrical area.

  • Troubleshoots, improves, repairs malfunctions, and documents failure analysis of I&E equipment.

  • Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures, and repairs all types of electrical and electronic equipment.

  • Actively participates in the implementation of the Maintenance Work Process for I&E work.

  • Assists PPM Coordinator and EE role in defining appropriate electrical spare parts needed.

  • Updates and follows daily maintenance schedule.

  • Maintain accurate records including related forms, electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.

  • Supports Root Cause Failure Analysis for I&E components.

  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours as needed.

  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama’s company and site goals.

  • Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • NJATC Journeyman Wireman Certificate along with the Louisiana Workforce Commission Certificate of Completion or associate degree in electrical technology through Sowela Technical Community College or other institution.

  • Journeyman Electrician experience in service and / or an industrial environment required.

  • Certificates of completed electrical training or transcripts will be required.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Instrumentation Certification is a plus.

  • Must have good working knowledge and ability to use and interpret NFPA 70 and 70E.

  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs along with SAP.

  • Familiarity with PLC and DCS logic.

  • Utilize forms, PM and repair history associated with work orders in SAP.

  • Able to read and understand a variety of complex technical instructions.

  • Able to use inductive/deductive reasoning and sequential thinking skills to resolve problems and organize workflow.

  • Ability to use various test instruments.

  • Solid working knowledge of starters, relays, transformers, and generators.

  • Ability to climb, work at heights and in hot, noisy, damp areas.

  • Ability to distinguish between colors.

  • Must be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
