Job Summary

The Director of Business Development works closely with the Vice President of Strategy & Business Development to execute customer facing requirements and strategic growth initiatives. The Director will be responsible for the management of business development activities, market research and analysis, maintaining high level business relationships and creating strategies with new and existing customers. The Director will leverage their extensive network within the power delivery market to promote the Company's brand and communicate its value proposition to targeted customers in alignment with the Company's strengths, capacity, and risk profile.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities.

  • Prepare and execute development strategies in alignment with business unit objectives and goals.

  • Evaluate potential business opportunities by aligning Company's market strategies with deal requirements and collaborate with operations to create a bid-to-win strategy.

  • Coordinate and attend industry events representing Company to the industry in a professional capacity.

  • Keep current with the latest market developments and industry offerings.

  • Lead and participate in department and Company initiatives.

  • Actively communicate with customers to determine needs and winning criteria.

  • Identify and recommend potential new service offerings.

  • Propose and develop strategic partnerships.

  • Identify and make recommendations for potential acquisitions.

  • Present business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management.

  • Develop and execute customer presentations.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

  • 5 years of proven business development, sales, or marketing experience.

  • Strong understanding of the power delivery market.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.

Preferred

  • Proficiency with Salesforce.

  • Experience with gas distribution.

  • Experience selling engineering and technical services.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
