SaskPower is actively recruiting two interns for the Crown Career Pathways Internship (https://www.saskatchewan.ca/government/news-and-media/2023/september/26/new-indigenous-internship-program-for-the-crown-sector) .

This program, in collaboration with Crown Investments Corporation and Saskatchewan’s Crown corporations, aims to create a pathway for Indigenous graduates from eligible post-secondary institutions to secure permanent employment within the Crown sector, provincial government, or private sector in Saskatchewan. The initiative aligns with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92, emphasizing increased employment opportunities for Indigenous peoples.

Eligibility Criteria:

Self-declared Indigenous graduates who have completed their studies within the past two years.

Graduates from post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan, as recognized by the Government of Saskatchewan.

Internship Details:

Duration: One year

Location: Open to multiple locations through out the province

Annual Salary: $56,000.00

Benefits: 15 vacation days and 10 sick days

Tentative Start Date: September

Successful candidates will be paired with a SaskPower manager whose expertise and background align with their educational qualifications and skills.

What knowledge and skills are we looking for?

• Degree, diploma, or certificate rewarded from a post-secondary institute in Saskatchewan as recognized by the Government of Saskatchewan

o Candidates must be able to meet eligibility requirement for this program

• Analytical, research and problem solving skills

• Oral and written communication skills

• Demonstrated skill in computer applications such as Microsoft

• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision

• Ability to deal with complex situations with confidentiality and professionalism

• Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork

• Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies

• Must have a continuing record of professional development

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered
