DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the seasonal outdoor pool area that includes a heated leisure pool (beach-type entry, fountains, water tunnel, current channel, bubble jet benches, 3-lap lanes), 2-tier hot tub, 2 basketball courts, event pavilion, and a sunbathing area.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate all student employees for areas of responsibility (head guards, lifeguards, and safety instructors) in compliance with departmental and university regulations.
Directly supervise student payroll for assigned areas, in compliance with departmental and university regulations.
Lead monthly Lifeguard in-services and ensure aquatics staff training is within local and state compliance for operation.
Oversee pool water testing, administering chemicals to maintain proper pool levels, chemical supply ordering, and proper storage of chemicals.
Assist with the development, implementation, evaluation, and enforcement of all rules and regulations pertaining to aquatics and facility operations.

Early morning, night and weekend hours as needed.
This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
DESIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
At least one other aquatic certification such as Certified Pool Operator, Lifeguard Instructor, or Water Safety Instructor Trainer
For Coordinator of Aquatics & Member Services (FULL-TIME):
Annual Salary: $43,888.00
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (ex: high school diploma and four years of experience or Associates and two years of experience may substitute degree).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: one year of related experience in aquatics management in a collegiate, community, or private programming setting (part time work, graduate assistantships and internships are acceptable and count as half time).Additional education may be considered as a substitution for the minimum experience requirements
Example: Master’s degree and some experience in aquatics management
Licensing/Professional Certifications: Lifeguard Certification
Physical Requirements: Move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
For Pool Supervisor (PART-TIME):
Hourly Compensation: $20.67
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One year of experience in aquatic and/or facility management in a collegiate, community, or private programming setting (part time work, graduate assistantships, and internships are acceptable).
Licensing/Professional Certifications: Lifeguard Certification
Physical Requirements: Move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Position selected based upon minimum requirements met and candidate preference of full-time (exempt) or part-time (non-exempt) work.
