Army Installation Management Command Cook Supervisor (DODEA) NS-08 in United States

Summary The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is Fort Campbell, KY and the surrounding counties. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.) The position is in accordance with the Fort Campbell Schools schedule . This position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual. Responsibilities Works under the direction of the Supervisory Food Services Specialist, who provides general instructions, standard procedures, and policies, and relies on the incumbent to control work operations and accomplish an adequate quality of work. Serves as a working supervisor in a Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) cafeteria kitchen exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations. Applies knowledge and skill in planning and implementing a comprehensive food service program that follows the policies and procedures of the USDA Child and Adult Care Program (CACFP). Assigns work/tasks to individuals, and explains work requirements, methods and procedures, and provides instructions in new procedures. Plans use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences, schedules, methods and policies set by supervisor. Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs and estimates. Plans and establishes overall leave schedule. Determines training needs and is responsible for training new employees. Sets standards and makes appraisals of subordinate work performance. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualification Requirements are: Experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade. Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. Ability to read, understand, and apply instruction and other materials related to the job. Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise. Highly Qualified candidates will have the following: One year of work experience directly related to the duties described above, that included skill working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment. One year Supervisory Experience in the kitchen of 5 or more staff. *Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first.
