Overview:

The Compliance Reporting Specialist works with other members of Conifer’s Compliance team along with software technical support and management operations team members to ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting is submitted accurately and timely. This role also assists the Director of Compliance in agency, investor or partner audit responses and requests. Property audit inspection prep and some file review is required. Other duties as requested.

•NYS End of Year Reporting HFA and HCR. Annual Owners Certification (AOC) and Procorem uploads

•NY HFA Monthly Reporting

•PA End of Year Reporting (AOC’s)

•PA Monthly Reporting

•NJHMFA Annual Reporting (MITAS)

•MD Annual Reporting AOC’s Standard Attachment worksheets, xml uploads

•HOME Reporting

•Investor Reporting – Monthly, Quarterly

•May require VA reporting

•May require OH reporting

•Assist with Investor Inspection corrections and uploads

•Provide support to Compliance team members as needed.

•Meet assigned deadlines in a timely manner.

•Accurately complete assigned compliance reports and submit timely.

•Willingness to obtain industry professional certifications.

•Work collaboratively and effectively with regulatory housing compliance representatives.

•Assist management operations in preparing for agency file reviews and inspections.

•Remote position but may require physical attendance at assigned work location during scheduled hours as needed.

•Occasional overnight travel as assigned to attend regional meetings, trainings, and/or other conferences.

•Other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

•Ensure sensitive data is secure and managed appropriately within the department and throughout the company.

•Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as appropriate judgement, independence, and discretion.

Experience:

•Minimum 3 years’ experience in affordable compliance reporting and file certification review.

•LIHTC, Project Based Section 8, and other HUD programs experience required. Layered compliance program experience preferred.

•Experience using Procorem, MITAS and xml uploads required

•Knowledge using affordable housing compliance software programs for processing state and federal compliance applications preferred or willingness to quickly learn.

•Knowledge using Yardi Voyager affordable housing modules preferred or similar with willingness to quickly learn Yardi.

•Basic accounting skills with understanding of receivables and payables.

•Proficient using Microsoft Office 365- Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint.

•Proficient using Microsoft Teams or similar internal chat messaging system.

•Proficient using Adobe Acrobat.

•Accurate data entry and proofreading skills.

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Minimum High School/GED equivalent required.

  • College degree preferred.

  • Current certifications or willingness to obtain:

  • Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or Assisted Housing Manager (AHM)

  • Rural Development 515 (S.T.A.R.) or Rural Housing Specialist (RHS)

  • Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP)

  • Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM)

  • Tax Credit Specialist (TCS)

  • Fair Housing

The salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000. The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
