Job Description
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator, under direction, assists with game day sports information duties as well as promotion of the athletic department and student athletes using written communications, social media posts, photography, and videography.
This position is a 10-month (August through May) part-time (maximum 19 hours per week) position.
Salary Information: The expected rate of pay for this position is $15.00 an hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with promotion and marketing of the university athletic department and student athletes
Assist with the creation of social media and other promotional content
Assist with keeping statistics at sporting events
Assist with public address announcements at athletic events
Assist with game day operations duties as needed
Assist with photography and videography
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience
Three (3) years of related experience
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Must be able to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience promoting a department or brand on social media platforms
Experience with Canva or other graphic design platforms
Experience with video streaming platforms or video production
Public address/announcing experience
Knowledge of statistical software for athletics
Experience with athletic game day operations
Other Requirements
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays

This position generally does not supervise employees.
