    we are looking for you as a(n)Chemist I/II (Release Coatings and Textiles).

    Job Responsibilities

    This role will support the Release Coatings and Textiles market segments through testing, development, and scale-up of candidate products and formulations that meet customer requirements. Interaction with the marketing and sales team to address customer needs and projects, and with supply chain and production as an important contributor for a seamless delivery of materials will be expected. Independent planning, scheduling, coordination, troubleshooting and completion of projects, communication of complex assignments, and presentation of technical developments to management, customers, and trade shows/conferences are responsibilities of this position.

  • Develop new products and formulations which fit customer needs through lab testing and experimentation. Contribute to the scale-up process, by providing guidance with responsible production chemists .

  • Provide technical support to sales managers and customers for the products in the Release Coatings and Textiles market segments. The contact points are done through e-mails, virtual video calls, phone calls and personal visits (travel up to 10%). Actively participate in internal innovation and market segment meetings, conferences, and trade shows by presenting results and developments.

  • Collaborate with local and global functional teams (technical, marketing, sales, managers, supply chain and production) on current and/or future needs and products with technical guidance, customer's path forward, market assessments and/or support.

  • Organize data, presentations to support technical information, and activities using best practices, which includes, but not limited to, Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), SAP, Microsoft programs (Excel, PPT, and Word), internal processes (PMA, PSI, etc) and customer relationship management tools (ex. Salesforce).

    Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; M.S. Chemistry, Polymer Science, or closely related field preferred .

  • 3+ years of formulating or industry-related experience in chemical industry

  • Chemical synthesis experience preferred

  • Experience in characterization of chemical compounds by NMR, IR, chromatographic and calorimetric techniques

  • Ability to relate to customers and discover needs to drive future developments

  • Understand the cost and economics for product development

  • Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills, analytical and problem-solving capability

  • Working knowledge of analytical test methods and ability to devise new approaches

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; able to write reports summarizing data and findings with well thought out conclusions

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

  • Efficient and accurate computer skills (Microsoft programs, SAP, SalesForce, etc.)
