Northeast Family Services is currently seeking a Billing Specialist to join their growing team!
NFS is an established and growing organization with locations in 9 states that specializes in providing therapeutic services to individuals and families via telehealth, in-person, or in-home. We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Billing Specialist to join our team.
The Billing Specialist is responsible for performing necessary billing and clerical duties to ensure accurate management of the practice account receivables. The Billing Specialist will work with a team to conduct a variety of daily tasks, including preparing clean and timely claims submissions, resolution of denials from payers, posting of payments into patient accounting systems, maintaining precise data, and obtaining and tracking payment information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Process behavioral health billing in a timely manner
Monitor the accuracy of submitted claims
Verify ICD-10 / CPT coding for accuracy and make adjustments as needed
Communicate with payers, third party vendors and patients in regard to claims, payments, and outstanding balances
Review explanation of benefits to ensure claims process and pay correctly
Monitor and identify status of outstanding accounts
Contact third party payors, patients, or others for outstanding payments
Process refund transactions for overpaid accounts
Process correspondence for rejections
Credential staff with appropriate agencies
Perform special projects/reports and other duties as requested
Qualifications:
Must have capabilities to work remotely. Although this position is currently remote, candidate must be able to access the office on occasion
Must have experience with UB04/1500 billing
Must have excellent communication skills and be familiar with working in a fast-paced environment
Multi state billing experience
Must possesses excellent organizational skills
Must be able to analyze processes and conceptualize solutions
High School diploma or equivalent
2+ years of medical billing experience, working with a billing agency or provider’s office
Strong proficiency with MS Office products and advanced Excel skills
Experience with EHRs / EMRs / Medical Billing Software is a must
Proficiency in Carelogic is a plus

Compensation:
- Full Time - Salary $50,000 - $60,000 depending upon experience
