What we want

The Assistant Director manages, organizes, and coordinates office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency and determines necessary changes. Oversees department activities, programs, policies, and procedures and plans and coordinates workflow. Provides input for annual budgets, coordinates the preparation of reports, trains new support staff, and serves on local, state, University and System committees. An important function of the position is fostering students’ engagement with the office.

What you need to know

Salary: $77,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Six years of relevant experience in legal practice, legal recruiting, legal education or a combination.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/TASKS:

  • Daily Operations, Major Functional Programs, & Software System Management - Manage, organize, and coordinate the internal operations of the office including software system management, website maintenance, operation of online job bank, and resources/handouts.

  • Student Engagement - Foster students’ engagement and develop programs and events to connect them with the Career Services Office. Identify students who may need additional career support. Plan and execute student engagement events hosted by the Career Services Office.

  • On-Campus Interviews, Resume Collects, Job Fairs, and Online Job Bank - Manage, organize, and coordinate on-campus interviews, resume collects, students’ participation in job fairs, and online job bank.

  • Data Collection and Reporting - Manage, organize, and coordinate the collection, tracking, and reporting of Exit Survey/Interview data and Graduate Employment Survey data for the National Association for Law Placement, the American Bar Association, and US News & World Report.

  • Career Counseling - Serve as the first point of contact for LLM students including reviewing resumes, cover letters, and job applications.

  • Student Professional Development Career Training Seminar Programming - Support the professional development and career training programming.
