RCM Technologies Assembly Operator in United States
Contract / Right to Hire Role: Assembly Operator Compensation: Up to $23.00/hour; commensurate with experience Location: Middlesex, NJ Length of Contract: 9 months+ Position Description: RCM is seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Operator to assemble small electronic components, including PCBs, optical components (splitters, WDMs, LEDs, laser diodes, photodiodes), and power cables. Experience in electronics manufacturing, especially within telecommunications, is preferred. This role requires precision and the ability to perform manual and digital quality checks. Responsibilities:
Assemble electronic components (PCBs, optical components, cables) following work instructions, ensuring accurate placement, soldering, wiring, and fiber routing.
Perform visual and functional inspections, conduct manual and digital quality checks, documenting results, and performing rework as needed.
Accurately enter assembly data, quality checks, and production reports into digital systems. Support material tracking.
Operate assembly tools and machines (electric screwdrivers, soldering irons, wire strippers, automated equipment), ensuring proper maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
Collaborate with production managers, engineers, and team members to meet production goals, communicate production issues, and contribute to process improvement.
Qualifications:
Experience in electronics assembly, particularly within telecommunications, is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with small electronic components is a strong asset.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Proficiency with hand tools and assembly equipment.
Ability to read schematics and assembly instructions.
Experience with manual and digital quality checks and testing tools.
Good computer skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
