RCM Technologies Assembly Operator Technician in United States

Contract / Right to Hire Role: Assembly Operator Technician Compensation: Up to $26/hour commensurate with experience Location: Middlesex, NJ Length of Contract: 9 months+ Position Description: RCM's client is seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Operator Technician to assemble RF and optical components, including PCBs with intricate traces, optical splitters, WDMs, LEDs, laser diodes, and photodiodes. Experience in electronics manufacturing, especially within telecommunications, is highly preferred. This role requires precise workmanship, occasional complex soldering, troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with test equipment (spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators) Responsibilities: • Assemble and integrate RF and optical components, following detailed work instructions and drawings, performing occasional intricate soldering. • Conduct in-process quality checks using test equipment, inspect assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and record quality data (digital and manual). • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in RF and optical systems, identifying and resolving issues related to components, soldering, wiring, or configuration. • Apply Lean principles to improve assembly processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, quality checks, and testing results (digital and manual). • Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure timely task completion, communicate issues, and share knowledge. Qualifications: • Proficiency in assembling small electronic components, including PCB soldering (fine pitch) and optical component assembly. • Strong understanding of RF and optical testing tools (spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators). • Excellent troubleshooting skills in RF and optical systems. • Understanding of Lean principles and commitment to process improvement. • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions. • Accurate data entry and quality check skills (manual and digital). • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and work with small components. • Experience in electronics manufacturing, particularly in telecommunications, is highly preferred. Experience with RF and optical components is a plus. Education & Certifications: • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
