Job Summary

This position provides overall support to the Director of Services for People with Developmental Disabilities and the SPDD department. Responsible for tracking specific department tasks and projects. Reviews/completes areas of residential services related to incident management (CAPs, etc.), physical plant, AEDs, fire drills, audits (POCAs), etc. and offers findings and suggestions for quality improvement. Monitors petty cash, personal allowance, purchasing and time and attendance. Manages and oversees an IRA in the absence of administrative support and/or when it requires specific interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tracks specific department tasks and projects.

  • Reviews/completes areas of residential services related to incident management (CAPs, etc.), physical plant, AEDs, fire drills, audits (POCAs), etc.

  • Monitors petty cash, personal allowance, purchasing and time and attendance.

  • Meets regularly with SPDD Director to review status of residential programs offering findings and suggestions for quality improvement.

  • Reviews and completes purchase requests.

  • Ensures that the overall environment in a residence is pleasant, well maintained and within applicable standards and Life Safety codes. Maintains appropriate contact with the maintenance department to ensure timely follow-up on issues identified.

  • Reviews department systems and offers critique and recommendations for improvement.

  • Recommends policy and procedures as needed.

  • Participates as a member of the SPDD management team and attends meetings as requested.

  • Assists the department director with special projects as deemed appropriate.

  • Assists the department director with future program development as deemed appropriate.

  • Manages and oversees an IRA in the absence of administrative support and/or when it requires specific interventions.

  • Any and all other duties as deemed appropriate by agency administration.

    Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Master’s degree required.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in an OPWDD setting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to multitask efficiently with attention to detail.

    Experience:

  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities.

  • Experience using an electronic health care system to review and manage data.

    Additional Competencies:

  • Excellent accountability, writing, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to build relationships and interact appropriately with staff and external partners.

  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
