Summary

As a Dev Infrastructure System Engineer, you will build and maintain the Windows hosts supporting a software development environment which enables Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment of software. You will be responsible for administration of Windows virtual machines, including configuration management tasks, deployment and stand-up of new hosts, troubleshooting, and leveraging automation to deploy software packages and updates.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with software development and IT operations teams to understand their needs, making sure the development tools, system, and infrastructure are aligned to support business goals.

  • Perform Windows client and Server host administration as needed.

  • Troubleshoot Windows client and Server systems.

  • Deploy and configure software running on Windows hosts. Handle configuration management and patch management of Windows systems.

  • Secure Windows systems per program and DoD requirements.

  • Automate software and patch deployment as required.

  • Configure, maintain, and secure Windows domain and Active Directory services as needed.

  • Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing among team members to maintain best practices and promote innovation.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure, identifying issues and opportunities to improve system performance, stability, and security.

    Specific Required Skills

  • General, broad understanding of Infrastructure (Servers, Hypervisors (VMs), Containers, Networking, Firewalls, Storage) and ability to “jump in,” learn, and correct issues.

  • Experience with installation, administration, and configuration of Windows Server and client systems. Experience in troubleshooting security, backup, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring on these systems.

  • Experience with configuration management, managing packages, patches, and software configuration across Windows operating systems.

  • Experience in troubleshooting Windows systems.

  • Experience with Windows administration and PowerShell scripting.

  • Experience with Windows Server services, including all aspects Active Directory, domain management, Group Policy, etc.

  • Experience with Windows best practices and security.

  • Excellent communication skills: ability to tailor messaging and documentation based on the audience.

    Required Education or Experience

3-7 years of experience.

Background and/or degree in Computer science or IT administration.

Current Security+ certification strongly desired. Server+, MSCE, Network+, and other related certifications are desired.

Eligibility Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
