Job Description

The opportunity

Manulife Product Development is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Product Development to support the Team Lead on the development and implementation of customer-centric insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the product roadmap and key stories for the product line.

  • Delivering of customer centric insurance solutions by involving our customers, distribution partners and other stakeholders in our product development process.

  • The development, implementation and on-going management of our product initiatives and other enhancements that align with our business directions.

  • Key deliverables include drafting of product specifications, policy contract, point-of-sales product documents (cover page, policy illustration, product summary, bundled product disclosure document), as well as review of product, marketing and training material. Front-end systems testing and output document checking will be required.

  • Support compilation of external and internal product information for product development and assist team lead in delivering effective product positioning and propositions.

  • Assist team lead to meet deliverables required by the project managers and other departments as well as external service providers to ensure our product initiatives and related supports are delivered effectively and meet our customers and stakeholders expectations.

  • Collaborate with other teams on cross functional initiatives.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of customer centric insurance solutions

  • Knowledge of basic insurance product pricing principles and financial metrics.

  • Experience in working with multi-channel distribution and multi product lines

  • Excellent project management, problem solving and communication skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Able to use rigorous logic, and a highly structured approach and methods to solve problems with effective solutions

  • Have an insatiable curiosity to learn and a proactive approach to leaning in on new opportunities, even those outside their comfort zone.

  • Can identify and articulate the processes necessary to get things down efficiently and effectively

  • University degree- Actuarial, Accounting or Finance preferred
