Shell Electrical Maintenance Technician in Singapore

The Electrical Maintenance Technician provides technical support and coordinate maintenance work related to electrical discipline. The role assures that activities on the weekly schedule, emergencies or assigned non routine maintenance work are executed with quality and efficiency and in compliance to the site Health, Safety and Environment requirements.

What’s the role?

Your accountabilities as an Electrical Maintenance Technician will include:

  • Provide day-to-day hands-on maintenance/troubleshooting to Electrical related matters in PU Support Electrical Engineer to carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance works and ensuring optimum usage of contractor manpower.

  • Timely execution of routine maintenance on all electrical works including STG, UPS, EDG, Power distribution system, VSD, HV and LV motors/cables, PLC, Earthing, Ex-equipment to ensure high plant availability and equipment integrity.

  • Timely execution of preventive maintenance as per schedule - plan, execute and close work order as per ME requirement.

  • Prepare job specifications and costing for works involved & issuance of contracts to Contractors.

  • Liaise with/consults Operations, Technology, other Engineering and Procurement departments on scheduled jobs with minimal disruptions to the operations of the process plants.

  • Provide good documentation to ensure all equipment, technical records and drawings are updated to reflect the latest changes, proper and correct procedures are followed, configuration and software changes to electrical equipment are documented, archived and backed up for disaster recovery.

  • Work safely with all staff and contractors to comply with HSE standards; and participate in audits in compliance with ISO standards.

  • Participate/conduct audits related to quality, health, safety and environment.

  • Seek improvement in techniques, procedures and technology to improve reliability at minimum costs and within budget.

  • Maintain work requests and records on maintenance works using computerized maintenance management systems : SAP

What we need from you

We are keen to speak to individuals with the following:

  • Relevant Diploma in / ITE

  • 2-5 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry maintenance field

  • Skilled in executing maintenance work and managing the contractors on site.

  • Skilled on the Job Hazard Analysis, Confine Space Entry, Permit to Work system and Clearance application requirement.

  • Skill on GAME ME process, SAP and minor project planning (PCR).

  • Skill in managing people and interfacing with others.

  • Knowledge in trouble shooting equipment failures and repair schemes.

The Transaction will transfer all of Shell’s interest in the SECP Business to CAPGC. Subject to regulatory approval, the Transaction is expected to complete by the end of 2024. This position is part of the in-scope SECP Business and while the employing entity may initially be SGOP, a successful candidate’s employment contract will subsequently be transferred to Aster Chemicals and Energy Pte. Ltd. (“ACE”) to facilitate the Transaction. From completion of the Transaction, ACE will cease to be a Shell group company and will be owned by CAPGC.

Specific details relating to the impact on relevant employees supporting the SECP Business and timeline relating to the change of employing entities, will be shared with the successful candidate.
