IHG Banquet Coordinator - InterContinental Singapore in United States

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

  • Monitor and track movement of banquet casual labour through the use of sign in/out sheets

  • Raising of Casual Labour requisition via Timesoft and ensuring that approval is done prior to commencement

  • Liaise with agencies with regards to staffing for banquet events and follow up with any changes made

  • Prepare and follow up on Banquet Event Order

  • Ordering of Stationery, Beverages and dry products for operational needs

  • Monitor and track on leave applied for colleagues to ensure no discrepancies

  • Follow up on any pending Purchase Requisitions in Purchase Plus system

  • Keying in of upcoming events into internal system

  • Consolidating and preparing carpark passes needed for upcoming events

  • Consolidating of documents and following up with respective departments for required signatories

  • Keying in of departmental roster in system

  • Checking and responding to emails, ensuring that any urgent follow-ups are highlighted to relevant Manager

  • Monitor office supplies and place orders if needed

  • Maintain overall housekeeping of office

  • Attend daily team briefings

  • Any administrative duties as assigned

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality or related field, with 1 year in hotel experience or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

  • Possesses problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.

  • Has good writing skills.

  • Able to quickly and accurately assess the scope of implementation of proposed innovation and keeping in with the current trends and innovation in the industry

  • Extensive and credible appreciation of brands

  • Enquiring mind with an understanding of innovation and guest experience and the challenges involved in implementing successful change within the hotel operation

  • Must be challenging, diplomatic and able to work across all levels of the organization

  • A good ‘real world’ sensibility when applying strategic solutions

  • High level of capability and credibility in influencing colleagues across functions

  • High degree of personal drive, self-starter and able to work independently without regular direct management

  • Able to apply creative methodologies and thinking to the tasks

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; articulate, persuasive & influential; systematic and timely

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills. Able to network and influence peers and senior management with credible and compelling arguments
