Later this year, Auckland will welcome New Zealand’s first Hotel Indigo to the neighbourhood. The “City of Sails” will set the backdrop for this boutique upper-upscale hotel, drawing inspiration from local artists for its design, service, amenities, food and beverage. The 225-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development in Auckland Central, with stunning views of the city and Auckland’s iconic harbour.

To help bring Hotel Indigo Auckland to life, we’re on the hunt for a Human Resources Administrator. Supporting the Human Resources Manager, you’ll be providing administrative assistance and playing a crucial role in supporting HR operations including the recruitment, selection and onboarding of our hotel team. This is a true generalist HR role, perfect for getting exposure to and developing a wide suite of HR skills.

A little taste of your day-to-day

  • Being part of history! As part of this pre-opening team you will be part of setting this beautiful new hotel up ready to receive its first guests

  • Provide administrative assistance with key people-related activities such as recruitment, selection, onboarding as well as learning and development

  • Creation and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files and records for all employees

  • Provide support to ensure hotel policies, frameworks, personnel forms and documentation is up to date and reflects current practice

  • Support colleague training and onboarding, coordinating and arranging required training and equipment.

What we need from you

  • You may be someone already familiar with the world of hotels and wanting to grow into a HR role, or have just finished your studies and looking for that opportunity to put theory into practice

  • Ideally you’ll have a tertiary qualification and understanding of HR practices; or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • You’ll be able to balance and maintain confidentiality at all times

  • You’ll pride yourself in your proven high attention to detail and willingness to learn

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to Human Resources Information Systems is beneficial, but we can easily teach you the essentials

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, you’ll pride yourself in your interpersonal abilities

  • Must speak fluent English 

  • Full working rights within New Zealand with no restrictions
