Oracle Senior Software Developer in Mexico

Job Description

We're looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and smart engineer to work on Oracle Linux security assurance and development of core components. Primarily focused on evaluation and development of security and cryptography related features, security assurance, compliance profiles automation, public sector validations and certifications. Participate in Oracle Linux product lifecycle management. Involved in challenging troubleshooting tasks, finding time and business critical solutions. Coordinate with cross line of business teams to deliver projects and targets. Contributes to the development of roadmap issues, involved in internal tool development. Being subject matter expert provide technical guidance for other Oracle teams. Mentors junior engineers.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs. Among other interesting security relevant projects driven by the team you will be mainly responsible for areas from the list below:

  • Oracle Linux product Security Assurance tasks - Oracle Linux static analysis projects, static analysis collaboration server maintenance, security tests design and automation to cover FIPS, SecureBoot, OpenSCAP and SELinux areas

  • Oracle Linux SELinux and OpenSCAP development tasks - bug reports evaluation, fix development, release process maintenance

  • Review and evaluation of requirements for Oracle Linux Common Criteria and FIPS certification projects, providing technical advisory and automation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related engineer field

  • Strong technical background

  • 4+ years of Software Development or Quality Assurance experience

  • 2+ years of C/C++ programming experience

  • 2+ years experience with scripting and automation - Python and shell programming preferred

  • experience with CI/CD pipelines and GIT

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • excellent knowledge of Linux OS

  • excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • good understanding of Information Security, compliance, cryptography and code signing concepts

  • Linux RPM file packaging experience

  • Open Source development experience

  • fast learning skills
