Amazon is seeking an experienced and business oriented Technical Vendor Manager (TVM) with a Science/Engineering background, to lead E2E vendor development and engagement which includes - capacity planning and delivery of key Material Handling Equipment (MHE) supply chains, for the continued expansion of our Europe and Africa, Middle East and Turkey (AMET) fulfillment network. Successful candidates will have strong level of ownership and be highly motivated individuals who have wide Engineering Project, Program, or Portfolio Management experience.
The role will understand the details of an Amazon Fulfillment / Sort Centers and will deep dive on key MHE project delivery and performance by working in close collaboration with equipment suppliers, Global Procurement and several Engineering teams. This individual will also be responsible for managing overall vendor development strategy supporting vendors to continue to meet Amazon demands.
The Technical Vendor Manager will have high work capacity, bias for action, dealing with ambiguity, prioritizing divergent goals of multiple stakeholders through proven experience in Program and Stakeholder Management. They will also have a passion to build capability and relationships, both external, at suppliers, and internally with robust work processes to deliver deliver high quality CAPEX projects safely, on time, and on cost. This individual will also interface and drive individuals across various functional teams at all levels of the organization, in order to be successful.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead overall end-to-end technical vendor management to deliver large scale projects for assigned vendor(s).
• Evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve organization team structure.
• Lead technical program reviews and drive schedule acceleration, cost savings.
• Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution with MHE Vendors.
• Communicate program status, drive and elevate decision making through Monthly/Quarterly. Business Reviews
• Lead critical path schedule items and escalate to leadership on potential risks and delays.
• Be a business partner with the Procurement and Engineering team, drive execution of commercial and technical deliverables.
• Work very closely with Engineering / Project Delivery Teams and own delivery of equipment to site.
• Assist in providing equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competition.
• Bring clarity of purpose on divergent goals of several stakeholders across the organization.
• Own and develop opportunities for process optimization and standardization across programs to drive impact in the internal team/organization and external/vendor organizations
• Ability to understand Operational processes
• Ability to travel up to 50% across projects in Europe and AMET
About the team
Would you like an opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries? The role will be based in London with up to 50% of time on job travel, either domestically or to other EMEA countries.

Basic Qualifications
• University Degree, B.S./B.Eng or Masters, in Engineering (or science/technology) related subjects.
• Proven technical leadership experience in development and implementation of large scale, complex projects.
• Excellent working knowledge using MS Excel, Auto CAD, MS Project, BIM360, and related software.
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong data analysis skills - Ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data
• Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of Lean techniques such as Kaizen or Six Sigma
• Technical expertise - Solution-driven approach to systems & processes
• Experience with analytical tools such as data warehouse tables: SQL / Visual Basic / Power BI
• Masters degree in (Industrial/Mechanical) Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
• Ability to speak multiple languages including English, German, French, Polish, Arabic,Afrikaans, Turkish, Zulu, and Italian are considered preferred qualifications
