Key job responsibilities
You will be combining working in your assigned team as a HR Assistant Apprentice whilst continuing your studies to achieve your qualification. As a working student, your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off the job time by learning and developing your skills, knowledge, and behaviors to work towards successful graduation. You will be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies.
A day in the life
This role is suitable for someone who identifies as a people person and takes satisfaction from supporting and working with others. A HR Assistant Apprentice analyzes data on a day to day basis to make decisions and recommendations for the business. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail and an interest in understanding and communicating best practice using company policy and current law.
As a HR Assistant Apprentice at Amazon, you’ll gain a range of useful experiences and skills in the classroom and on the job. During this program, you will work towards a L5 People Professional apprenticeship standard as well as a CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate in People Management.
You will build your skills over a 25-month period, starting in September 2025, which will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of:
• Classroom based/virtual training to cover knowledge
• Online learning
• Mentoring from our People Experience team members
Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow abilities in crucial complementary areas such as organization, prioritization, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, presentation skills, and document writing.
You will work alongside the team, supporting with day to day tasks learning how Amazon Human Resources work and deliver for its customers. As your knowledge and skills increase over the duration of the scheme, you will have opportunities to be part of and lead projects, making a difference for customers. The on-the-job experience will help you build a portfolio of evidence towards your apprenticeship. You will be given dedicated time to focus on your studies to help you stay on track and work towards successfully completing your qualification. Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship you will be able to apply for relevant roles across the business.
You will attend a number of workshops across the duration of the apprenticeship which will be a mix of face-to -face and online delivery by an external training provider. You will also attend internal workshops and have access to training material to support you in developing Amazon related skills and knowledge. Depending on the scheme and location of the training provider, you may be required to travel and stay overnight (costs will be supported by Amazon).
About the team

They act as the frontline consultant for our people managers, with the aim of creating a positive employee experience, offering high judgment and advice on people matters. Members of the PXT team are seen as trusted advisors and subject matter experts, offering a knowledgeable and compelling point of view. They collaborate with other key stakeholders, such as Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and leaders from across the business. A key area of focus for the PXT team is to drive manager education on important people programs, policies, tools, and processes, enabling them to become more self-sufficient, where appropriate. Whilst doing this, PXT members are continuously raising the bar on identifying improvements, harmonizing practices across geographies, and sharing best practices, wherever possible.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates should be 18 years or over before the start date and have the right to live and work in England
• For the apprenticeship program we prioritize applicants eligible to government funding for their apprenticeship and for this you need to:
Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program
Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending April 2025 or later
Have 5 x GCSEs at grade 4-9 (A-C) or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
Have 3 x A level t grade 4-9 (A-C) or above (or equivalent)
Please note, you will be required to evidence your qualifications. If you have gained qualifications outside of the UK you will be required to evidence that they are equivalent.
Note: This Apprenticeship assumes the candidate has some or little knowledge / experience of the occupation, and is NOT suitable for candidates who already have a similar or higher-level qualification in the same or similar subject of the apprenticeship.
